Bitcoin (BTC) is the original cryptocurrency — peer-to-peer digital cash, launched in 2009, secured by proof-of-work. It is the most liquid, most recognised, and most pseudonymous of the major chains. Swapping Bitcoin without KYC is the most common use case on NoKYCSwap: BTC to Monero for privacy, BTC to stablecoins for dollar-value transit, BTC to Lightning for fee-efficient micropayments.
About Bitcoin
Bitcoin is a UTXO-based blockchain with 10-minute target block times and a hard-coded 21 million supply cap. Every transaction is public and permanent — addresses, amounts, timestamps all visible on any block explorer. The pseudonymity is weak in the absence of coin-control hygiene: reuse an address once and chain analysis links the two transactions forever.
NoKYCSwap supports both native Bitcoin on-chain (L1) and Bitcoin Lightning (L2). Lightning swaps settle in seconds with sub-cent fees; L1 swaps take 2–3 confirmations (~20–30 min at normal fee market).
How to swap Bitcoin anonymously
- Withdraw BTC from any KYC\'d exchange to a self-custody wallet you control. Never send directly from the exchange to a swap deposit address — that creates an on-chain link between your KYC identity and whatever you swap into.
- Open the NoKYCSwap widget, pick BTC as the send asset, pick your destination asset. Paste the destination wallet address.
- A single-use BTC deposit address appears. Send the quoted BTC amount from your self-custody wallet.
- After 2–3 confirmations the aggregator routes the swap and pays out. Median end-to-end: ~8 minutes on a healthy fee market.
Bitcoin privacy notes
- Change outputs are the biggest leak. If your wallet merges change with dirty UTXOs, chain analysis clusters your wallet. Use a wallet with coin-control (Sparrow, Electrum).
- Address reuse is forensic gold. Always let the wallet generate a new receive address per transaction.
- Lightning is more private for small amounts. Lightning routing obscures the path; on-chain Bitcoin does not.
- Breaking the graph with a swap. BTC → XMR → BTC on NoKYCSwap severs the deterministic trace that on-chain-only tools use. Two hops is better than one.
